Honoring Bravo Troop, 1st Squadron, 9th Cav Veterans
IT'S ABOUT TIME!

" I was a crew chief with the 1/9 cav from Aug 68 to Aug 69. Started at Camp Evans and took part in the Great Halloween Migration when the Cav moved South. At Phouc Vinh I was assigned to the Squadron OH-6 check-out bird with a Mr. Kaughman (sp?). Stayed there until Christmas when the bird was wrecked by a B-52 pilot. Then to B Troop at Quan Loi. Saber Six himself [George O'Grady] sent me on R&R to Sidney, Australia. May or June '69? I was in Sidney on R&R when B troop got rubbed out at Quan Loi. They were at Quan Loi when I left, but when I came back, the unit had moved to Red Beach to regroup. Very few of the old people were there.

I was shot down with Captain Bosh early '69. Lost the observer that time. I saw Captain Bosh in D.C. in 1970. I credit his airmanship with me being alive today."
