| "The photograph was taken at LZ Two Bits. That was in the Bin Din Province in II Corps at a village named Bong Son. The full name on the helicopter is "Darlin Jenny II". The picture was probably taken in July or August of 1967. As far as the persons in the picture are concerned - Top Row, left to right: Capt Donald D. Burnam - lift leader with the callsign of Saber 35. He was killed in a crash while doing a GCA approach into DaNang in Feb of 68. Lt. Ivan Camp, myself, I can't remember the name of the man to my left, and on the end is Larry Brown. Larry was a scout pilot who served several tours in Vietnam. He carried a 357 revolver and every month his mother would send him a pound cake that had been hollowed out and a box of 357 ammo packed inside. Bottom Row, left to right: Tom Maehrlein. Tom was a co-pilot when this picture was taken. His nickname was 'Wonder Warthog' and he received a DSC for saving the lives of two aircrew members shot down during first Tet. John Flanagan was my co-pilot when this was taken. He was a fine pilot and remains a good friend. Last is Don Lewis, another fine pilot. Don broke me in when I first began flying with B Troop."
